Celebrating a week of appreciation and learning at MCM

It's been a whirlwind week at MCM as we opened our doors to various stakeholders, fostering a spirit of appreciation and learning about our operations. Here's a glimpse into the exciting activities that took place:


𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: We were honored to welcome Miss Teen Botswana to our underground operations, where she delved into the depths of our mining processes. It was an eye-opening experience for her and a testament to the importance of educating our future leaders about the intricacies of coal mining.


𝗧𝗹𝗼𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲: Representatives from the Tlokweng District Council embarked on a journey through our Open Cast mine, gaining valuable insights into our operations and the impact they have on local communities. Strengthening ties with local authorities is key to our commitment to responsible mining practices.


𝗗𝗶𝗸𝗴𝗼𝘀𝗶 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲: Hosting esteemed members of the House of Dikgosi at our Open Cast mine was a highlight of the week. Their visit underscored the significance of stakeholder relations as we shared our knowledge and showcased the role of coal mining in driving economic growth and development in Botswana.


At MCM, we recognise lthe importance of stakeholder engagement and the power of education in shaping perceptions about coal mining. By opening our doors and teaching Batswana about our operations, we aim to foster understanding and appreciation for the vital role coal mining plays in contributing to the prosperity of our nation.
