Morupule Coal Mine participates at Local Manufacturing Summit Botswana

The two-day Local Manufacturing Summit 2024 began today with the President of the Republic of Botswana, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi officially opening the event. Emphasizing the need to boost local productivity, the President highlighted that it is Governments intent to create meaningful participation of citizens as investors, manufacturers, traders and retailers to drive position Botswana as a Private Sector Export led economy.

 

A notable moment came when Botswana Chamber of Mines Chairman, Mr. Edwin Elias, presented the President with a token of appreciation, reflecting the deep respect for His Excellency's dedication to advancing Botswana's manufacturing sector.

 

Following the opening, the President toured the exhibition stalls, including a visit to the Morupule Coal Mine exhibit. This stop showcased the mine's significant contributions to Botswana's energy sector and its innovative approaches to sustainable mining practices. The President's tour provided a firsthand look at the industry’s efforts and innovations, leaving attendees inspired and optimistic about the future of manufacturing in Botswana.
