Another historic milestone for Morupule Coal Mine - proud to be recognised for our commitment to safety
Morupule Coal Mine has achieved another significant safety milestone. This past week, the Botswana Chamber of Mines (BCM) held its Annual Members Meeting in Mahalapye, hosted by Jindal Botswana. The meeting included the annual Safety Awards, which recognise the best-performing organisations in the mining sector.
Morupule Coal Mine proudly won all the categories competed for, namely:
•𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 (𝟭𝟬𝟬%)
• 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 (𝟬.𝟬𝟰)
• 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 (𝟬.𝟬𝟬)
We also celebrate the lowest Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) ever recorded at MCM, at 0.04. Reaching this record is a remarkable achievement and reflects the strong safety culture we continue to build together.
