Morupule Coal Mine launches 2025/26 SHE Silly Season Campaign
Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) has officially launched the 2025/26 Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Silly Season Campaign, led by CEO Mr. Edwin Elias, under the theme “π¬ππππ πππ πΊπππππ πΉππππππππππ — πΊπππππ πΊπππππ ππππ πππ.” The campaign, which runs from 01 December 2025 to 31 January 2026, serves as an important reminder for everyone to celebrate responsibly, whether at work, on the road, or at home.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Elias emphasized that while the festive season is a time of joy and celebration, it is also a period that calls for mindfulness and responsible choices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all. As part of the event, MCM proudly announced a record-breaking safety milestone, achieving a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.00 and a Total Recordable Frequency Rate (TRFR) of 0.06, the lowest in the company’s history, a reflection of MCM’s strong safety culture and commitment to zero harm.
Guest speakers from the Department of Transport, MVA Fund, and Botswana Police Services echoed this message, encouraging everyone to prioritize road safety and responsible behaviour during the festive season.
Through this campaign, MCM continues to demonstrate its unwavering dedication to the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees, contractors, and the wider community.
