Morupule Coal Mine CEO launches Mahalapye East 2024 - 2029 strategic plan

Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Edwin Elias, officially launched the Mahalapye East Strategic Plan 2024–2029, urging stakeholders to ensure disciplined execution, monitoring, and staying the course.

When giving the keynote address, Elias drew parallels between the constituency’s roadmap and MCM’s own #1-3-27 strategy, which emphasises socio-economic transformation.

Elias expressed “just as we at Morupule set a clear path for sustainable growth through our #1-3-27 strategy, Mahalapye East has charted a deliberate course toward prosperity for all.”

The Mahalapye East five year strategy, crafted under the leadership of the area Member of Parliament, Honourable Augustine Nyatanga, prioritises community development, health, youth empowerment, sports, culture, and economic participation.

MCM noted the alignment with its own community investment focus areas, which include education, health promotion, and economic empowerment.

For his part, Nyatanga highlighted; “it is critical that our Strategic Plan is firmly aligned with the National Transformation Plan.”

“Only by working in step with Botswana’s broader vision can we deliver real and lasting change for the people of Mahalapye East.”

Nyatanga stressed the importance of stakeholder collaboration, adding: “This plan cannot succeed in isolation. Every stakeholder, from government institutions to private partners and community leaders must move in sync, pulling together to achieve the goals we have set.”

The Strategic Plan includes measurable Key Performance Indicators to ensure accountability. “Progress will be monitored and reported transparently so that our communities see tangible results,” Nyatanga affirmed.
