Supply of Limestone Dust - MOR/45/23/06/15
Morupule Coal Mine started its operation in 1973 and has since expanded due to coal demand locally and abroad. Assets are an integral part of the mine operation as they enable the mine to deliver on its mandate. Morupule Coal Mine would appreciate a provider if they could assist with the delivery of limestone dust. Limestone dust is applied to suppress the propagation of a coal dust explosion in an underground coal mine. All accessible workings, return airways, and every roadway shall be treated with limestone dust.
The limestone dust supplied for use in the workings must:
• Be at least 95% by mass composed of incombustible material.
• Be so fine that, when dried, all will pass through a sieve with a 600-m aperture, and at least 50% of the sample must pass through a sieve with a 75-m aperture.
• Be a limestone dust with less than 5% of its mass being free of silica or be another dust that has been certified by the engineer (Mines, Quarries, Works, and Machinery Act).
• Be light in colour and readily dispersible into the air when blown upon.
• Be tested at intervals not exceeding three months for its incombustible matter content and fineness.
The limestone dust must adhere to the specifications of Regulation 551 of the Botswana Mines, Quarries, Works, and Machinery Act.
Tender documents will be shared with the Tenderer upon receiving proof of payment of a non-refundable fee of BWP750.00 each only on or before 12 July 2023.

Acceptance thereof is not binding on the company until confirmed through official notification.
