Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) is a mining company established in 1973 to mine and transform coal into unlimited sources of energy. The MCM business is at the heart of a prosperous future for Botswana with coal production contributing significantly to the economic and social health of Botswana. Morupule Coal Mine is owned by the Government of Botswana through the Minerals Development Company Botswana (MDCB) at 100% ownership.

Morupule Coal Mine is located 14 km northwest of the urbanized village of Palapye (the fastest growing center outside the capital city of Gaborone), along the Serowe-Palapye national highway (A14). The company’s vision, is ‘To be a leading coal energy business”

In an endeavor to support Citizen Owned suppliers and manufacturers, experienced Citizen Owned companies are hereby invited to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) for the following;

  • 1. SUPPLY OF LIMESTONE DUST REF: MOR/EOI/01/21A
  • 2. SUPPLY OF VENTILATION CURTAINS REF: MOR/EOI/01/21B
  • 3. SUPPLY OF MAGNETITE REF: MOR/EOI/01/21C
  • 4. COAL BRIQUETTING AND BAGGING REF: MOR/EOI/01/21D
  • 5. FABRICATION AND SUPPLY OF CONVEYOR STRUCTURES REF: MOR/EOI/01/21E

 

PRE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

In order to prequalify to be invited to tender for the above, interested parties must fulfil the following criteria:

  • 1.1. Provide a brief company profile, a brief history of the company/business, company registration documents, names of shareholders, directors and their identity documents, shareholding certificates, a summary of types of services offered, any statutory registration or licensing including trade license.
  • 1.2. Provide a bank statement for the company.
  • 1.3. Demonstrate a proven track record in the supply of the product at hand with individual contract/purchase order values. Provide at least 2 references in the form of copies of purchase orders, completion certificates, contract copies or related.
  • 1.4. Provide at least three referees with contact person, address and telephone number for each
  • 1.5. Any certification for quality management or quality management system
  • 1.6. Provide a copy of a Tax Clearance Certificate.

 

PAYMENT

Interested parties are required to pay a non-refundable fee of P100.00, inclusive of VAT, and submit their expressions of interest together with a copy of their proof of payment as per the submission criteria laid below. Payments may be made in cash or by Electronic Funds Transfer to:

SUBMISSION:

Submissions must be concise and should not exceed 20 pages. The proposals must be submitted through an email and addressed to MTenders@mcm.co.bw on or before the 02 April 2021 at 1630 hrs.

Submissions should be Marked “MORUPULE COAL MINE – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: NAME OF THE ITEM AND REFERENCE NO” e.g. for item No.1 above “MORUPULE COAL MINE – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: SUPPLY OF LIMESTONE DUST REF: MOR/EOI/01/21A

Documents must be submitted in a zip file/folder format to reduce the size of the documents. The maximum allowable email size at a time shall be 10 MB. Those who wish to submit documents with more than the stated email size will be free to split the submission in multiple parts but not exceeding the reasonable length required. All documents must be in PDF format and password protected. The password shall be in two parts and should be sent to two separate emails, with one part sent to gorapeleng@mcm.co.bw and the other part to bseitshiro@mcm.co.bw

Email transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secure or be error free as it may arrive late or may not open or be quarantined due to security issues (virus scare), therefore MCM does not accept any liability of any omissions or errors in the contents of the e-mail transmission. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their offers earlier.
