PALAPYE BASED COMPANY HELPS IMPROVE MCM BAGGING SYSTEM

Palapye to the world: in alignment with our strategic aspirations of improving customer experience with our products, MCM engaged a Palapye based company, Phala Engineering to deliver a bagging system which could package coal in a one-ton bag. This development will help MCM package its coal for the market, especially in the region. This is a business opportunity identified as trucks supplying goods from South Africa to countries like Zambia, Zimbabwe and Congo etc. pass-through Botswana. MCM will therefore utilize the empty lowbed trucks heading back to South Africa to ferry our product.

The MCM Engineering team collaborated with Phala Engineering for the design and fabrication of a cost effective system which is easy to use. Through a robust quality control plan, the boilermaking team from MCM supervised the fabrication of the structure and ensured that it met MCM specifications. Civil works were fully constructed inhouse by the MCM Utilities team.
