Driving conversations that shape Africa's future

Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) proudly participated in the recently concluded Africa Mining Summit held in Gaborone from 15–16 October 2025. This year’s summit was hosted under the theme “Now and the Future bringing together key industry players to engage on the future of mining across the continent.

MCM was represented by Head of Strategy & Projects, Mr. Lefika Moagi, and Marketing Intelligence Officer, Ms. Lynette Kruger, both of whom contributed to high-level panel discussions focused on critical areas within the mining value chain.

Ms. Lynette Kruger joined the panel on Mining Logistics & Trade – Enhancing Export Capabilities, which examined the role of transport, infrastructure, and logistics systems in supporting mining operations and driving export growth, particularly in the face of growing energy demands and shifting global trade dynamics.

Mr. Lefika Moagi participated in the Coal Panel – Stewardship in Action, a discussion that explored the evolving role of coal in Africa’s energy mix and its continued relevance in supporting economic development, with a focus on responsible and sustainable practices.

MCM remains committed to shaping the future of mining in Africa through active engagement, strategic partnerships, and responsible resource development.
