Minister Onneetse Ramogapi visits MCM to advance National Housing Agenda

Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) had the honour of hosting Honourable Minister Onneetse Ramogapi, Minister of Water and Human Settlement, for an official visit to engage the MCM Executive Team on the government's ongoing Bonno Housing Scheme initiative.

Minister Ramogapi was accompanied by the Assistant District Commissioner Mr. Kabelo Thekiso and representatives from the Palapye District Council, underscoring the multi-stakeholder approach to accelerating housing development for Batswana.

The visit served as a strategic platform for the Minister to brief MCM leadership on the government’s vision to provide affordable and dignified housing for every Motswana. He highlighted the significance of the Bonno Scheme and acknowledged MCM’s strong contributions and continued partnership in this national effort.

As part of the engagement, the delegation visited the site where a house will be constructed by MCM, showcasing the quality and progress of the initiative. The Minister commended the mine’s efforts in aligning its corporate responsibility goals with national priorities.

The MCM Executive Team committed to sharing the information with all employees and encouraging staff to actively participate in the Bonno Scheme as a step toward achieving home ownership.
