Morupule Coal Mine presents its donation to COVID-19 relief fund

Morupule Coal Mine has  spent a total of  P1, 524 000 on the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. On 28 May 2020, the General Manager of Morupule Coal Mine Mr David Kgoboko presented a cheque to the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana His Honour Slumber Tsogwane during a handover event held at the Office of the  President. The donation include a cash payment of P773 000 deposited into the Covid-19 relief fund,  Goods in kind totaling P227 000 which include food hampers and sanitizers that were handed to the Palapye and Serowe Administrative Authorities. The mine has also spent P524 000 on hygiene products including masks for all employees and their families as well as contractors working at the Mine. This spend also encompassed personal protective clothing for frontline employees and thermometers for screening visitors, customers and employees at the Mine. MCM will continue to assist in the fight against this pandemic and we encourage all Batswana to practice good hygiene as advised by the health experts.   Remember to maintain social distancing and always wear masks.
