Sustainability
To be sustainable, development must improve economic efficiency, protect and restore ecological systems, and enhance the well-being of all peoples.
Corporate Sustainability is a business approach that creates long-term shareholder value by embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments. Sustainability is the end goal: the ability of global society to continue into the far future.
Sustainability is a priority interest for us at MCM. It is not part of our job, but a guiding influence for all that we do at MCM. At MCM, we promise to mine our coal and deliver energy for the benefit of our stakeholders in a sustainable manner. To achieve this MCM has developed a framework SHE Management System based on OHSAS108801 and ISO14001 which anchors on the believe that ZERO HARM to people and the environment is possible. An important component of this framework is the establishment of sustainability, Policy, objectives, goals, indicators and matrices covering Safety, Health and Environment as a basis for continual improvement.
